For Adults: Sound Therapy

A meditation setup with brass singing bowls, a purple and white cloth, and a circular wooden frame with an abstract, colorful, swirling artwork in the background.

Designed to soothe, heal and relax the mind and body using sound, sound therapy is a powerful tool for change. Sound therapy sessions (sometimes called sound baths or sound journeys) can be delivered 1:1 and for small groups.

Sound therapy uses chimes, Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls, sound plates, tongue drums, kalimbas, Buffalo drums and other handheld percussion instruments to calm the nervous system and soothe the mind. Sound Therapy can be delivered in the home, business, school or even in nature.

Hands On Percussion Sound baths use specialist equipment that make them suitable for those with sound sensitivities and those that don’t want a large, potentially overwhelming, group setting.

There will be an opportunity to discuss your needs and intentions, so the Sound Therapy can be designed to your requirements. Participants are simply asked to lay or sit and listen whilst a variety of instruments produce sounds at different frequencies.

These frequencies change brainwaves from Beta brainwaves, associated with busyness and stress, to Alpha and Theta brainwaves, associated with daydreaming, meditating and deep relaxation.

These more relaxed states lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, improve cognitive function, increase creativity, reduce pain response and boost the immune system.

Sound therapy is an effective way of releasing trauma and emotions that have been held in the body, sometimes for years. The use of different frequencies can enable trauma to be released in a safe environment. Placing singing bowls on the body, using different tones on each side of the brain, using the deep vibrational massage of the drum all help facilitate trauma release.

Prices for 1:1, Prices start from £60.

For groups, £20 each for up to 5 people (plus hall hire if needed).

Sound therapy treatments last around 1 hour, sometimes slightly more, sometimes less.
